Abstract
In order to improve the pool of information in the field of waste management and to facilitate networking among stakeholders in the future, the Federal Environment Agency has commissioned the bifa Environment Institute GmbH to develop an Internet-based platform to showcase international waste management projects lead by German actors. The embedding in a Geographic Information System (GIS) pursues two goals: Increasing the transparency of German efforts to promote the use of synergies and partnerships among public and private actors. Offering German international experience to decision-makers world-wide. With the participation of the waste management actors until the completion of the project 333 public and 6 private sector projects, as well as 20 training centers were collected and transferred to the platform. It is envisioned to expand the platform portfolio to include other related topics, newly begun projects, projects underway as well as projects in the pipeline
