More and more companies and organisations are opting for climate management, taking the path to climate neutrality or adopting a climate strategy. So far, however, there is a lack of a uniform standard, e.g. in the form of a catalogue of requirements, to ensure comparability, transparency, credibility and a minimum level of effectiveness of climate management in companies. In recent years, corporate climate management has also developed considerably. Although these developments have not yet been incorporated into the EMAS Regulation, EMAS is particularly suitable for establishing these elements as minimum requirements for credible climate management. In the research and development project "Further development of the EMAS Regulation and its national implementation", Arqum and adelphi, the researchers, therefore, made concrete considerations on the design and implementation of an "EMAS climate management module". The present concept paper (section 1) summarizes the results, both in the form of concrete proposals for the content of such a module and in the form of options for embedding the module in the EMAS verification and registration system. The concept paper is supplemented by guidelines for the practical implementation of such a module in companies with an environmental management system (section 2).en
