Abstract

Die zoogeographischen Inhalte von Werken der Naturgeschichte vom Ende des 18. bis zur Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts von Johann Melchior Gottlieb BESEKE (1746-1802), Adolph Christian SIEMSSEN (1768-1833), Joseph Franz Edlen VON JACQUIN (1766-1839), Augustin KALUZA (1776-1836), Johann Adam Valentin WEIGEL (1740-1806), Bernhard MEYER (1767-1836) & Johann WOLF (1765-1824), Johann Andreas NAUMANN (1744-1826) und Johann Friedrich NAUMANN (1780-1857) wurden analysiert. Sie enthielten Wissen aus allen Teilgebieten der Zoogeographie. Die Werke von sechs der neun Autoren gehören der mittelalterlich-frühneuzeitlichen Epoche der Zoogeographie an. Die Bücher von BESEKE, J. A. NAUMANN und J. F. NAUMANN stehen hingegen am Übergang zur klassischen Epoche dieser Wissenschaft.

The zoogeographical contents of works of natural history from the end of the 18th to the middle of the 19th century by Johann Melchior Gottlieb BESEKE (1746-1802), Adolph Christian SIEMSSEN (1768-1833), Joseph Franz Edlen VON JACQUIN (1766-1839), Augustin KALUZA (1776-1836), Johann Adam Valentin WEIGEL (1740-1806), Bernhard MEYER (1767-1836) & Johann WOLF (1765-1824), Johann Andreas NAUMANN (1744-1826), and Johann Friedrich NAUMANN (1780-1857) were analyzed. They contained knowledge of all branches of zoogeography. The works of six of the nine authors belong to the medieval-early modern epoch of zoogeography. The books by BESEKE, J. A. NAUMANN, and J. F. NAUMANN, on the other hand, stand at the transition to the classical epoch of this science.
