Accidents at refineries pose a particular risk for water bodies and groundwater. Hence, efficient safety management is essential. The guidelines for refineries consist of two parts. Part 1 contains recommendations on general safety management issues as well as checklists for assessing relevant measures. Part 2 contains recommendations for technical measures to ensure the safety of production plants and for protection of water bodies.
